Links & QR Codes
Trackable click-to-WhatsApp links and QR codes that show you where each chat came from.
What it does
A link here is a short web address, with a matching QR code, that opens a WhatsApp chat with your business, usually with a message already typed in. Because every link is unique, you can see which poster, ad or page brought each customer in.
You'll find it under Links & QR Codes in the main menu.
Creating one
- Go to Links & QR Codes and click New link.
- Give it a name that says where it will be used, such as "Store window poster" or "Instagram bio".
- Choose the type:
- WhatsApp opens a chat with your number and a prefilled message.
- URL sends people to any web address you choose, and still counts the visit.
- For a WhatsApp link, write a Prefilled message so the chat starts with the right context, for example "Hi, I saw your poster and want to know more". For a URL link, enter the Destination URL and, if you use web analytics, the UTM source, medium and campaign.
- Save. You get a short link and a QR code you can download.
Using it
- Links go in social bios, emails, ads and website buttons.
- QR codes go on physical things: packaging, posters, receipts, table cards.
- When someone clicks or scans, WhatsApp opens a chat with your business with your message ready to send.
Tracking
- Clicks and scans are counted separately, so you can compare which links and which printed pieces work best.
- New conversations are linked back to the link that started them, so you know where each lead came from.
Good to know
- Make a separate link for each channel or campaign so your numbers stay meaningful.
- A friendly prefilled message makes that first message easier to send.
- Print QR codes large enough to scan from a comfortable distance.
Links and QR codes turn "how did you hear about us?" into real numbers, and make it easy for customers to start a chat.
