Instagram & Messenger
Bring Instagram DMs and Facebook Messenger into the same place as your WhatsApp chats.
What it does
As well as WhatsApp, AIM Automate can handle your Instagram direct messages and Facebook Messenger chats. Connect your Facebook Page and Instagram account, and those conversations land in one inbox your team can answer from.
Connecting a channel
Go to Setup โ Instagram & Messenger and click Connect a channel. There are two ways to connect:
- Connect with Facebook: log in with Facebook and pick your Pages. Any Instagram account linked to those Pages is connected at the same time.
- Connect with Instagram: log in with the Instagram professional account itself. You don't need a Facebook Page for this one.
When you're done, use Test connection to check the channel can send and receive before you rely on it. Each channel can be switched on or off on its own.
If neither option works for your setup, contact support and we'll help you connect.
What you get
- One inbox: answer Instagram and Messenger conversations from Setup โ Meta โ Unified Inbox.
- Comment replies: see comments on your posts and automatically send a private DM to anyone who comments on Instagram. This works well for "comment to get the link" campaigns.
- Automations: a new Instagram or Messenger message, or a new comment, can start a workflow.
Good to know
- If you connect through Facebook, your Instagram account needs to be linked to a Facebook Page. Connecting with Instagram avoids that.
- If messages stop arriving, open the channel and reconnect it. This usually happens after a password change or when access was removed in Facebook or Instagram.
- Instagram and Messenger have their own version of WhatsApp's 24-hour rule: you can reply freely for a limited time after the person's last message.
One inbox for every social conversation means your team stops jumping between apps, and nobody's message gets missed.
