Usage & Billing
See your credit balance, what you have sent, what it cost, and every top-up and charge in one place.
What it does
Your workspace runs on prepaid credit. You add credit up front, and paid WhatsApp messages and AI features draw it down as you use them. The Usage & Billing page shows your balance, how many messages you sent, what they cost, and a full history of credit added and spent.
Open it from the menu under your name (top right) โ Usage & Billing. The balance also shows as a pill at the top of the page; click it to jump to your transaction history.
The page at a glance
The four tiles at the top cover the period you have selected: Messages Sent, Charged This Period, Billable AI and Total This Period. Below them, three tabs:
| Tab | What you see |
|---|---|
| Messaging summary | Your plan allowance, a price guide, and breakdowns by WhatsApp number, by category, by country, plus a monthly trend. |
| AI prompt usage | AI usage by feature and a log of recent AI requests. |
| Transaction Histories | Your prepaid balance, totals added and spent, and every credit movement with the balance after it. |
The page starts from the beginning of your account. Click the date button at the top right to narrow it to This week, This month, Last month or your own dates, and to filter by message category, country, or one WhatsApp number. Clear resets everything.
How messages are charged
WhatsApp prices messages by Meta's category. The How WhatsApp messages are priced table on the page shows the price that applies to your workspace for each one.
| Message | When it is charged |
|---|---|
| Marketing template | Every delivered message. |
| Utility template | Only outside the 24-hour window. Free while the contact's window is open. |
| Authentication template | Every delivered message (one-time codes, logins). |
| Service reply | Free-form replies inside 24 hours of the contact's last message. Meta charges nothing for these. |
- You are charged per delivered message. A message that fails to deliver is refunded to your credit automatically, and the history shows the charge and the refund together.
- When a contact reaches you from a click-to-WhatsApp ad or a Facebook Page button, Meta makes every message for the next 72 hours free.
- Prices follow Meta's rate card and can change when Meta updates it. Each message keeps the price it was sent at.
- If your number sits in your own WhatsApp Business Account, Meta may invoice message charges to the payment method you set up there. Those rows show Billed by Meta.
Topping up
To add credit, contact your account manager, or use the Contact AiM Infosoft link that appears when your balance runs low. Once credit is added, it shows in Transaction Histories and your balance updates straight away.
When sending is paused
There are two different reasons a send can be refused, and they need different fixes:
| Message you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Out of credit | Your prepaid balance is used up. | Top up. |
| Monthly message limit reached | You have used your plan's allowance of paid sends for this billing period. | Wait for the next period, or ask about a bigger plan. |
When credit runs out, template messages and AI features pause. The banner on Transaction Histories says exactly what is paused for your workspace. Workflows waiting to send are held, not lost, and resume once credit is added.
Good to know
- The Plan allowance card counts billable sends only. Free service-window messages never use it up.
- A banner warns you when your credit is running low, so you can top up before anything pauses.
- AI features (draft replies, the AI chatbot, content generation) draw from the same balance as messages.
- Message Reports at the top of the page takes you to delivery results for each campaign.
Keep an eye on the balance pill before a big broadcast. Topping up the day before costs nothing and avoids a half-sent campaign.
