Storefront Widgets

Turn store visitors into WhatsApp contacts with a welcome popup, and win back sales with back-in-stock alerts.

What it does

Two small widgets run on your online store (Shopify, WooCommerce or any other website):

Widget What the shopper sees What you get
Welcome Popup A popup asking for their WhatsApp number, with an optional discount code as a thank-you. A subscribed contact and a workflow trigger to send the code.
Back in Stock A "notify me on WhatsApp" button on sold-out product pages. A waiting list per product, messaged when the item returns.

Both live under Storefront Widgets in the sidebar. If you can't see it, the feature isn't on your plan; contact support.

Install once

  1. Open Storefront Widgets โ†’ Welcome Popup (or Back in Stock).
  2. In the Install on your store box, click Copy.
  3. Paste the snippet into your store theme just before the closing </body> tag. On Shopify that's the theme.liquid layout; on WooCommerce, your theme footer or a header and footer scripts plugin.

One snippet runs both widgets. You switch each one on or off on its own page, so you never need to reinstall. Use Allowed domains (one per line) to limit which sites can show your widgets, or leave it empty to allow any site.

Set up the Welcome Popup

  1. Tick Show the popup on my store.
  2. Under Content & appearance, fill in the Title, Body text, Button text and Accent colour, plus an optional Image URL (https only).
  3. Add a Discount code if you want to reward sign-ups. Shoppers only see it after they opt in.
  4. Under Display rules, set the Delay (seconds) before it appears and Show again after (days) (0 shows it on every visit). Tick Exit intent to also show it when the cursor leaves the page.
  5. Under Audience & delivery, choose the WhatsApp number and, if you like, a segment in Add to segment.
  6. Click Save popup.

The Live preview updates as you type. Switch between Popup and Success to check both screens; the preview never sends anything. The cards at the top track Impressions, Submissions and Conversion rate.

Shoppers tick a consent box before submitting. Each sign-up creates or updates the contact, marks them subscribed and fires the Storefront popup opt-in workflow trigger.

Set up Back in Stock

  1. Tick Show the button on out-of-stock product pages.
  2. Set the Button text, Form title, Form text and Accent colour, and pick the WhatsApp number.
  3. Click Save settings.

Shopify product pages are detected automatically when the add-to-cart button shows sold out, and WooCommerce pages by their "Out of stock" label. On any other site, the page gives you a small tag to place where the button should appear.

When a product turns "in stock" again in your Products list (after a store sync or a manual edit), every waiting shopper fires the Product back in stock workflow trigger. Demand by product shows how many people are waiting for each item, and Subscriptions lists every request so you can Cancel or Delete one.

Send the messages with a workflow

The widgets collect people; a workflow does the messaging. Open Workflows, click Load a use-case sample and pick Welcome popup: send discount code or Back in stock alert. Point it at your approved template and switch it on.

Good to know

  • Use a template step in both workflows. A shopper who signed up on your website hasn't messaged you, so WhatsApp won't deliver free text to them.
  • A request is only marked notified once a workflow actually starts for it. With no active workflow, the shopper stays on the list for the next restock.
  • Back-in-stock alerts are matched to the products in your Products list, so connect your store and sync products first.
  • On Shopify, the button is added when the page loads. Picking a sold-out variant afterwards doesn't add it.

Offer something real in the popup. A small discount that lands on WhatsApp straight away usually beats a generic "join our list".
